League Championship Goes to Upper Annandale after 36 year wait

Moffat team Upper Annandale lifted their first league title for 36 years managing and remained undefeated in their league campaign. Lochar Thistle pushed them for most of the season but a late season slump saw their challenge falter. Lochmaben were consistent throughout and took the runners-up medals edging Lochar out at the death.

Uppers took further silverware lifting three cups on the way to their best season ever. Kirkconnel came with a late season rally to win the final two cups of the year edging out Lochmaben on both occasions. This was a little harsh on Lochmaben who suffered badly with injuries in both games. Terregles Athletic showed improvement as the season went on and their prize was a place in the Tayleurian Cup final.

At the AGM new club Maxwelltown Thistle were admitted. Unfortunately the numbers remained the same as Dumfries FC Colts withdrew. This was not a surprise as Maxwelltown are virtually the same outfit that were managed and played for the Colts.

Sam Rafferty sadly resigned as League President to be replaced by Vice-President Steven Todd. The role of Vice-President was taken by Peter Meechan. The other officials remained the same.

It was agreed to play another knock out cup if the fixtures allowed. This would be the McCall Cup.

The end of season awards were presented at the AGM which took place on the 15th June 2007.
