Registrations 2011/12 Season

All player registration forms should be sent to the Registrations Secretary. S.Todd, 261 Annan Road, Dumfries, DG1 3HB. Do not send completed forms to the General Secretary Graham Lockhart as this will delay the registration process.

All player registrations will be reported on this page. New signings and player release dates will also be posted here as and when they happen. Note - there is no limit to the number of players that can be signed to any one club.

All triallists used will be listed in the relevant club section on this page. Note a player can only play 2 trial games for a club in any one season. He can play trials for several teams as long as he does not exceed 2 games for any club.

The league currently has 260 registered players as of 21st February 2012. Please hand in completed registration forms as soon as possible. A registration form can have from 1 to 16 players. Remember the postcode and remember there is a 3 day window between signing and registration.

NOTE - Read this carefully it may save a lot of problems further down the line.
Occasionally the SFA registration computer has given problems and cannot be accessed remotely. If this happens and a registration form cannot be processed for any reason. The team may use that player at their own risk but if he proves to be ineligable for any reason it is the team concerned who are at fault.

If in any doubt about a player with no registration number check with SFA Registrations department Sandy Bryson 0141 616 6051/6052/6053/6054.

IMPORTANT - When a player is registered on the SFA database a check is done for any other registrations that the player may hold such as Youth or Non-Recreational (even English Amateur Registration). If any of these exist the player can not be registered or just as importantly, used as a trialist. Please be aware that a player can play as an amateur even if he is still classed as a professional as long he is out of contract. Check eligibilty with SFA if in any doubt.

Extracts from Rule 47 (DDAFL) pertaining to Recreational Forms and their proper completion (Rule 42 in SAFA Handbook).

Please read these rules carefully as any form submitted not complying to the following criteria will be returned with the possibility that the players are not registered. Items highlighted in blue as non-compliance may result in the form being rejected.

"A player to be eligible must be registered on a Recreational Form for the relevant club(s) provided that such clubs are in membership of the Scottish Amateur Football Association."

"The entire Recreational Form, fully and properly completed, must be received by the Registrations Secretary of the relevant association or League within three days of the date of signing (Sundays excluded). A player’s eligibility to play will be governed by the Constitution and Rules of the relevant Association and Leagues."

"The Recreational Form as posted must be accompanied by a stamped addressed envelope to the sender. After being franked with the relevant association/league stamp to establish its date of receipt, the club portion of the form will be returned to the club."

"Failure to complete the full postal address, including the village or town, district or postcode as required on a Recreational Form will result in the registration form being rejected."

Note that as from 13th September 2011 all forms submitted will have a receipt document returned by post to confirm the registration of all players, this is why you need to include a stamped addressed envelope with the form. Failure to do so will mean that the form will be rejected. Notification by post will also be given if a form has been rejected. I will also phone/text club officials to inform them if there is a problem with a form.

3rd Party deliveries will only be accepted if they are in sealed envelopes.
