Annan Athletic Colts - spent 9 years as league members - Joined in 1978/79 and left at the end of the 1986/87 season when their first team moved into the East of Scotland league whilst retaining their position in the South of Scotland League for their reserve side. Annan  Athletic are one of the great success stories in the region. Originally playing as amateurs in the Carlisle and District Amateur League they entered a side into the South of Scotland League in the late 1970s. Originally the intention was to run a resrve team on the C&DL but international rules prevent a club from playing in both English and Scottish leagues at the same time so they had to resign their position in the C&DL and as a result joined the DDAFL. They have now made the massive step of gaining entry into the Scottish Football League and continue to go from strength to strength. They play their home matches at Galabank which is being developed and improved every season. The Annan side usually provide the DDAFL with a cup final venue at Galabank for one of it's cup finals. The club won the DDAFL championship 1981/82 during a period when there were several teams from the Annan area playing in the league, strangely the club only tasted cup success on one occasion, lifting the British legion Cup in 81/82. The club has it's origins further back as prior to their spell in the CDL they played in the Dumfries and Maxwelltown Junior League for 5 seasons in the late 1940s and early 50s, they won that league 4 times.

Annan Auberge/St. Andrews -  St. Andrews hailed from Annan and joined the league in time for the 2000/01 season but only played for one season under that name. A name change to Annan Auberge followed the following season. Little is known about the club except that they took their name from a local hostelry in Annan. The club’s only honour was as Division 2 top scorers in the 2001/02 season. The club withdrew from the league at the end of their second season. Despite having a reasonable mid-table performance in their first year the club did not do so well in their second year and finished near to the bottom of the table.

Annan Thistle - spent 5 years as league members - Joined in 1981/82 and left at the end of the 1985/86 season. The interest in the DDAFL in the early 1980s from sides in the Annan area was at an all time high and several new teams joined the league at that time. Thistle were the most successful of these winning the Division 2 championship in the 1983/84 season. Unfortunately that was the pinnacle of their achievements. They were relegated the following year and after a disappointing 85/86 season failed to appear for the following campaign.

Ashfield - spent 6 years as league members after joining the league in time for the 1969/70 season. The club spent four years in the top division before folding at the end of the 1974/75 season. In their time the club were solid performers and many of their young players went on to be long standing players in the DDAFL.
