Dumfries YMCA Welcome to the homepage for YMCA
(members of the Dumfries and District Amateur Football League, affiliated to the S.A.F.A. and S.F.A.)

Dumfries YMCA started out as a youth team playing in the local youth leagues in the early 1970s. In 1976 it was decided that the club would enter a team into the DDAFL. The early years were spent getting top grips with the amateur game but by the start of the 1980s the club achieved promotion to the top division and have been ever present since and hold the league record of 28 consecutive seasons in the top flight. In the early years success was hard to come by but by the mid-1980s the club was at it's height winning 6 league titles in a 10 year period, with only the emergence of Kirkconnel preventing the club from acheiving even more success. The club's 6 titles rank as 4th all time and the club have also finished as league runners-up a total of 7 times.

In the past few years the club has struggled to hit the winning note in either league or cup and the last silverware won was back in the 98/99 season although the club have finished as runners-up many times in that period.
